Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) Virtual Training Workshops
IPA is now one of the leading qualitative methodologies in psychology and it is also beginning to be used in a wide range of other disciplines. Researchers are now using IPA in many different countries. Jonathan A Smith is Professor of Psychology at Birkbeck University of London UK. He has developed Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) as one particular experiential qualitative methodology in psychology and employed it in a wide range of areas, particularly in health. Several workshops given by Jonathan Smith on IPA are organised in January 2023 and you can find more information here. -
Forschungswerkstatt Ethnomethodologische Konversationsanalyse
The potential of conversation analysis is now recognized by many disciplines. However, their ethno-methodological foundation, which is essentially based on the local, situated, temporally structured and reflective production of social phenomena in interaction, is often lost sight of. In this workshop, it is the organisers' concern to sharpen these methodological foundations again, to explore their implications in view of new data types and questions and to help conversation analysis regain more sociological relevance. That is why researchers who deal with natural data against an ethnomethodological background and would like to exchange methodological and analytical ideas, are offered a regular forum for dialogue.
The workshop will take place on 17 and 18 November 2022 at the Universität Bielefeld and you can read more information and how to register here. -
